In 1836, William Reeves executed a deed witnessed by Duncan Melvin and Ed Reeves giving all his land and goods to Willie Reeves, Nancy Reeves & Polly Jane Forte. His expectation was that they would maintain & support him and his wife Lois Reeves the remainder of their lives. States that Lois is the "mother of the afore mentioned Willie Reeves, Nancy Reeves & Polly Jane Forte."
Research Notes
In Bladen County on the 5th of August 1840, William Reeves, Esqr. gave a statement in support of the widow's pension of Mary Cain, widow of James Cain. In that affadavit he stated that he was 61 years old.Three separate courthouse fires destroyed many court and land records for Bladen County, thus further complicating the research process.
