Edward was a private in Co. L, 10th Illinois Cavalry and died from Diarrhea in Springfield, Missouri 26 Oct 1862 according to the US Registers of Volunteers deaths. He was interred in Springfield, Missouri, but there is a headstone for him in Ukiah Cemetery in California where siblings are buried.
