The probate for his aunt Mary Reeve mentions "Lorenzo Reeve son & sole Representative to Ezra Reeve Deceased Brother to Mary Reeve Decd." His birth is recorded in New Hampshire birth records and names his parents as Ezra and Sally Reves.

The probate for Lorenzo's will states that Maria Reeves was widow and made special guardian for the minor heirs Ezra Warren Reeves, Jane Lucinda Reeves, Tapping Reeves, Edward Payson Reeves, and David Wallis Reeves. The will only mentions his wife Maria.

Lorenzo was buried in Presbyterian Church Burying Ground, Owego, Tioga County, New York. His infant son William Henry Reeve is buried there as well.

According to son David's death record, his mother was Maria Clark, providing Maria's maiden name.
