MRS. T. L CAROTHERS PASSES
UKIAH Jan. 29 - Mrs. T. L. Carothers died at her home here Sunday evening following a short illness. Always somewhat frail, suffered an attack of flu last summer which somewhat sapped her vitality and hastened the end.

Mrs. Carothers, who was the widow of the late Tapping Reeves, prominent as one of the county's early lumbermen interested in mills at Ukiah and Little River on the coast, was born at Oswego, New York State and came of a family of note. A brother was a celebrated musician and composer and a sister was an artist of ability.

Mrs. Carothers had lived in this city for a great many years and had endeared herself to a great number of people by her gentle ways and many fine qualities. She was a charter member of the Presbyterian Church and an active worker in the church. She was also a member of Kingsley Chapter Order of Eastern Star.

Funeral services were held from the family home Rev. W. W. Breckenbridge officiating. Mrs. Carothers is survived by one daughter Miss Edna Reeves who for some years past has been a member of the faculty of the Girls High School in San Francisco.
