Emery and Elsie were the parents of nine children, seven boys and two girls. Emery worked 18 years for the rock island railroad and 18 years at Hercules aluminum plant in De Soto, Kansas, he retired in April 1970. At the time of Emery’s death he had 31 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. One of Emery’s favorite things was showing his wallet of pictures, with all his Beautiful grand daughters. Saying they were his girlfriends. Emery and his brother Emmett we’re identical twins. There were very few people that could tell them apart. The story goes when they were younger they could play jokes on others, by switching places. No one know the difference. Emery was laid to rest at the Hazel Dell Cemetery in Cedar county Missouri.
