  2. Margaret Lenora Reeves, born c. 1834, SC, died after 1880, Shelby Co., AL.
  3. William Reeves, born c. 1836, SC

Previously thought to be a daughter of Prestley Reeves, the widow's pension application for Jonathan J. Horton shows that she was the widow of a George Reeves when she married Jonathan Horton. It's possible George was a son of Prestley. George was said to have died in Fairfield County, South Carolina before the rest of the family moved to Alabama, which took place in 1849. We can thus presume that the above listed children were children of this George Reeves.

There is a War of 1812 Widow's Pension Application file for Emily Reeves Horton, widow of Jonathan J. Horton. In the file, Fannie Horton and Margaret Reeves gave testimony as follows:
Mrs Fannie Horton says that Jonathan J. Horton died in the summer or Fall of the year 1865. I was present and saw his corps. George Reeves the former husband of claimant died in Fairfield District South Carolina before I left that state which was in the year 1849. And that claimant has not remarried since the death of the soldier J. J. Horton, and that her acquaintance with her is such that if she had resumed marriage I would have known it.

Mrs. Margaret Reeves says Jonathan J. Horton died in the summer or fall of the year 1865. I was present and saw his corps. George Reeves claimants former husband died in Fairfield District SC but I cannot remember the date.
Claimant has not remarried since the death of the soldier Jonathan J. Horton & my acquaintance with her is such that if she had resumed marriage relations I would have known it.

Testimony of Newton C. Milam:
Says Jonathan J. Horton died in Fall of the year 1865. That his first wife whose name before marriage was Jenett Logan. died on the 8th day of June 1842, and that Jimima his second wife died in the spring of the year 1864, and that he was married to claimant on the 14th day of May 1865, and that to my knowledge she has not remarried since the death of the soldier.
Peter Branch says he knew Jonathan J. Horton decd in his lifetime & knew his second wife Jimima that she died in the spring of 1865 and that he was married to claimant the 14th day of May 1865, and that she has not remarried since the death of the soldier, And both say that our acquaintance with her is such that if she had resumed marriage relations they would have known it.

The later documents say his first wife was named Jennett West and second Jemima Reynolds.

The 1880 census lists Margaret Reeves as her sister, however the term sister was often used for a sister-in-law as well.
