Narrative

George is the fifth known child of William & Dorothy Reeves. He was baptised at the Parish Church of St Mary, Fordingbridge in Hampshire on 26 October 1816.

George marries Sohpia Joyce KIRTLAND and their marriage is recorded in the Oxford Registration District during 1q 1853.

George has yet to be identified on the 1841 census. He was not included at his parent's home in Fordingbridge at that time.

At the time of the 1851 census, on 30 March, George was living at 69 Bishopsgate in the City of London, in the household of George Hall who was a Linen Draper. George Reeves's occupation is given as Linen Draper's Assistant, but no relationship to the Head of Household is shown on the census enumeration.

A decade later and the 1861 census shows George Reeves living on Fore Street in Edmonton Middlesex. George is now married and with three children.

On the 1871 census, George has returned to Fordingbridge with his wife and five youngest children. A Sophia KIRTLAND is also living with the family; she is believed to be George's wife's cousin.

At the time of the 1881 census, George is a widower living in Fordingbridge.

On the 1891 census, George is to be found living with his daughter Mary and her husband Sutherland MUNRO in Portsea, Hampshire.

George has yet to be identified on the 1901 census and it is possible he has died before this census. It is probable he is the 76 year old whose death is registered in 1q1892 in the Portsea Registration District.
