Sarah and William J.'s death certificates list the first spouse as mother. Harvey's delayed birth record lists mother's maiden name Powell. Also states both parents were born in Pickens County and father "King Harm Reeves" died at age 67.

Hiram had administration on the estate of Asel Reeves in 1883.

Mr. Hiran (sic) Reeves of Eastatoe Township died on the 27th ult. after an illness of several weeks.

John H. Reeves, the 17 year old son of Hiram Reeves, of the Eastatoe section, was before Commissioner Thornley last Thursday, charged with running a moonshine still. He was bound over to court under $300 bond.

Headstone application says he was buried at Reedy Cove in Pickens County. Pickens County Cemetery Survey book gives the following directions to the cemetery where his marker is: "Look on the right before Sugar Liker road on Hwy. 178 from Pickens to Rocky Bottom." It reports the following inscription for his marker: "Hiram K. Reeves/Co. C./SC CAV/C. S. A."
