James wrote a will on 16 May 1826 in which he mentions children Jacob G., James C., William, Parthena, Ann Maria, Anna, Martha, and Mary. The will was proved on 3 Mar 1828.

According to 'The Reves family: descendants of Walter Reeves of Burlington County, New Jersey, through his eldest son, John', this James is a grandson of Henry Reves through his son Abraham. More research is needed to verify this.
