Trinity Episcopal Church records from Woolwich, New Jersey include a marriage record for James and "Margret Solmon" which describes James as of Deptford Township.

In an 1808 deed, James and Margaret are described as of Greenwich Township in Gloucester.

A Phipps family Bible records the following relevant information:
  • Lewis Phipps married Eliza Reeves, daughter of James Reeves of Glocester ... County, New Jersey, on 9/22/1825; Rev. Dr. Broadhead, of Philadelphia, officiating.
  • Margaret Reeves, wife of James Reeves, died 6/15/1819, at 55 yrs of age.
  • James Reeves died on Fri, 2/9/1849, at one o'clock in the morning, at the age of 87yr and 10 days.
  • Edith (Reeves) Loudenslager, (or Loudenslages), widow of George Loudenslager, died on 1/20/1873 at 7:20pm, at age 73yr, 11mo, and was buried in the Biddle Reeves Graveyard near Woodbury, NJ.
  • Eliza Phipps, widow of Lewis Phipps, and fourth daughter of James Reeves of Gloucester County, NJ, died on Tuesday, 1/19/1875, 11:20pm, after a protracted illness. She was buried on 1/23, in the Biddle Reeves Graveyard, north of the railroad near Woodbury.

Research Notes

There is a marriage record for a James Reeves to Sarah Chew in 1839 in Gloucester County. It's not clear who this was.
