Narrative

Little is known of the life of Jesse Britt Reeves other than that listed in the 1850 census for Ballard County, Kentucky.

He appears to have died sometime before 1860 because in that census, his wife, Louisa (or Letitia as sometimes listed) was remarried to Joseph Lanham and was living in Scott County, Missouri. The youngest Reeves' children, Burton, Thomas, Charles and Susan, are listed in the household.

The last information found regarding this family is from the 1870 census of White County, Illinois where Louisa Lanhan(m) is listed with Charles and Susan Reeves still listed in the household. Although it is not indicated on the census, it would appear that Louisa Davis Reeves Lanham is a widow.
