John has been identified on the 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871 & 1881 census returns, residing in Redlynch, Wiltshire.

John married Esther (Hester) Squibb at the parish church of St Laurence, Downton on 25 December 1830 and they had 13 known children. Hester pre-deceased John around 1860, and John is shown as a widower on the 1861, 1871 & 1881 census returns.

On the 1841 census John lives five households away from Samuel Reeves and his family. Their relationship is unknown at this time.

On the 1871 & 1881 census returns, John is living in the household of George PILGRIM, where he is described as father-in-law.   George's wife was Mary Ann nee Reeves, the eldest known child of John & Hester.

It is probable that John died in 4q1860; FreeBMD has a strong match in terms of a John Reeves, aged 81 who's death was registered in the Alderbury Registration District which includes Redlynch.
