John Reeves, who died Sunday morning, was born Nov. 10, 1812, at Johnstown, N. Y., and with his father, Thomas Reeves, came to Jefferson county about 1835. In 1839 he married Sally M. Benjamin, of Salisbury. Mr. Reeves bought a farm on Pillar Point, and they resided there until about 7 years ago, when they removed to Sackets Harbor. For the past three years Mr. and Mrs. Reeves have resided in this city with their daughter, Mrs. Augustus Johnson, at 209 Main street. Rev. William M. Holbrook, of Belleville, an old friend, officiated at the services Tuesday afternoon.
