In 1834, William Reeves deeded John C. Reeves 113 acres in Lincoln County. In 1850, as the administrator of William Reeves, John C. Reeves confirmed the title to a portion of land and bound the heirs of William Reeves to defend said title to Joseph Farrar.

An 1868 deed from Lincoln County confirm that John C. Reeves was the son of William Reeves and names the other heirs of William Reeves.

Buried in Liberty Cemetery in Newton County, Kansas.

Research Notes

Although various sources speculate that John C. Reeves is the child of Samuel Reeves, this has been proven incorrect by a deed which names John C. Reeves as son and administrator of William Reeves. Of the Reeves households that are part of the Samuel Reeves' family in Lincoln County, Tennessee at that time, only William Reeves, son of Samuel, has a male child of the age to be John C. Reeves.
