REEVES-REEVES-On Sabbath morning, Jan. 3d, at the residence of the bride's father, by Rev. T. C. Clendening, Rev. J. H. Reeves, formerly of Glenn's Falls, N. Y., and Miss Francis Milton Reeves, youngest daughter of G. W. Reeves, of this city.

Death of Rev. J. H. Reeves
Rev. J. H. Reeves, pastor of the Methodist Church, at Harvard, died this morning after several weeks illness with pneumonia and complications. He leaves a wife but no family and was about 45 years of age. He resided in Rockford for 20 years until 8 or 10 years ago. He was a cousin of George Reeves, the wagon maker. He was local preacher in Court St. Church for a time. His wife is a daughter of the Elder Reeves. Funeral occurs Monday at 2 o'clock at Court Street Church.
A more extensive obituary was included in the Daily Gazette, 17 Feb 1885, which included the following bit of information:
John H. Reeves was born in Glostershire (sic), England, August 18, 1845, and died February 18, 1885, in Harvard, Ill. His parents came to this country when he was a boy of eight years, and his youth was spent mainly in the village of Glenn Falls, N. Y., until 1857, a young man of 22, he came to Rockford, Ill., which was his home until he entered the native work of the ministry.
Note: His obituary states he was born 18 Aug 1845, but later states he was 22 in 1857, which agrees with the census ages, resulting in a birth date of 18 Aug 1835.
