Lewis Leon Reeves
Pompano Beach - Funeral services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m., tomorrow at the Kraeer Funeral Chapel for Lewis Leon Reeves, 52, produce foreman who died while at work at the State Farmers Market yesterday morning.
The Rev. John M. Sikes will officiate, with interment following at Pompano Beach Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
Mr. Reeves, who lived with his son, John E., at 228 NE 14th Ave., had been coming here from Benton Harbor, Mich., each winter since 1920.
Surviving are eight sons: John E., Joseph of Ft. Lauderdale; William of Miami; David, Kenneth and Thomas in Michigan; Richard of Ohio, and Harry, of the U. S. Marine Corps in Japan.
"L. L. Reeves of Pompano, Fla." is mentioned in the obituary of his brother Charlie Simpson Reeves.
Research Notes
His WWI Draft card states he was born in Union County, South Carolina. However, he was in Florida at the time, so may have not had accurate information. The census would suggest Spartanburg County.Sources
