His headstone states his birth and death place in addition to dates.

Lewis Reeves made his will 23 Jun 1853 and added an addendum on 4 Sep 1854 in which he appointed "my beloved brother Abner Reeves one of my executors of this my will in addition to those heretofore appointed."

On 1 Nov 1863, Abner Reeves transferred to Eliza W. Miller, presumably the remarried widow of Lewis, all his right to everything devised to him under the will of Lewis R. Reeves. The clerk of Cook County, Illinois testified to the statement.
