Narrative

Children of Lucy Ann Reeves and James Manry:
  1. John R. Manry, b. 1854, GA.
  2. William F. Manry, b. 1857, GA.
  3. James H. Manry, b. 1859, GA.

Lucy Ann Reeves married James Manry on 28 May 1849 in Pike County. They were enumerated in HH 1004 in Pike Co., GA, in 1850 as a young couple with no children living near James's Manry relatives.

In 1860, they were in Zebulon, HH 898/898. James was 34 and Lucy 29, and they had children: John R., 6; William F., 3; and James H., 1. In HH 908/868 was the Buffington family into which George Washington Reeves intermarried. In HH 909/868 was Charles K. Reeves, probable son of George W. Reeves. In HH 910/870 was the young Lafayette Jordan Green, future husband of Martha E. Reeves. This places three members of the Sidney King Reeves and George W. Reeves families in close proximity to Lucy and James Manry, but it does not prove a connection.

Lucy and James remained in the Pike County area. They are buried in Milner Baptist Church in Lamar County. Lucy was born 23 April 1831 and died 11 October 1914. James was born 5 February 1826 and died 26 July 1902. Buried in the same cemetery are members of the Elisha Reeves family as well as John Martin Reeves (1833-1909), son of Allen Howell Reeves (1808-1891) and Jane Harper Reeves (1809-1876) who married in Pike County but moved to Newton Co., MS.
