Narrative

Rosina is the fourth known child of Samuel Reeves and Emily Mary (nee HARRISON). Her birth was registered during the first quarter of 1859 in the Southampton Registration District when her mother's maiden name was given as HARRISON. She was baptised at the Parish Church of Holy Trinity in April 1859.

On the 1861 census Rosina appears in her parents household at 11 Marine Parade in the St Mary's district of Southampton, Hampshire. She is two years old and the youngest of the four children in that household.

Rosina has not been found in a family context on the 1871 census. It is most likely she is the individual who appears as a Domestic Servant in the household of Thomas and Jane DUNNING at 3 Gladstone Terrace in the St Mary's district of Southampton, Hampshire. Her age seems to have been inflated slightly as she claims to be 14 years old.

Rosina married Frank Henry SIMS on 22 July 1879 at Christ Church, Southampton.

The above births were all registered in the Southampton Registration District. On the 1911 census, Rosina notes she has had five children, all of whom were then still surviving.

At the time of the 1881 census Rosina is the Head of Household at 11 St Georges Place, St Mary, Southampton, Hampshire. She notes she is married and 22 years old. (Her husband Frank was a seaman and probably away on a voyage at the time of the census). In addition to Rosina the household includes a two month old unnamed infant with the surname Sims (Harriett Rosina Sims) and Rosina's sister Ellen Reeves.

Identified on 1891, 1901 and 1911 census in the household of her husband Frank.

It is probable her's is the death noted in FreeBMD during 1q1935 in Southampton Registration District as Rosina SIMS, age 76.
