Solomon Reeves was born on 29 Nov 1805 in Alexander, Athens, Ohio, the son of Richard Reeves and Elizabeth Dix Richard Reeves Family Bible. He married Elizabeth Irwin, the daughter of Hugh M Irwin Sr. (1781-1850) and Jane Simons (1783-1845), on 17 Jan 1828 in Meigs, Ohio. The 1850 and 1860 Federal Censuses show he and his wife living in Scipio, Meigs, Ohio with their children, and his occupation is as a farmer. In the 1870 Federal Census, he and his wife are living in Union, Warren, Iowa, where he died on 21 Jul 1876.
Research Notes
In his will, he mentions that he has an adopted daughter, Lucinda Irwin. She was the daughter of William Harrison Irwin (1820-1901 - Elizabeth Irwin's brother) and Phebe Shoneker (1817-1854). She married Franklin Fisher Reeves (1851-1930), a grandson of Elizabeth Irwin and Solomon Reeves through their first son, Levi Reeves.Sources
