In the 1880 census when Thomas Reeves gave the birth place of his father, he stated that it was Maryland. This indicates that he was probably a grandson of Bennett Reeves of Charles County, Maryland who relocated to Wilkes County, Georgia circa 1800 with two sons born before 1790.
