Research Notes

Much research has failed to document the family to which this Thomas C. Reeves belongs. One possibility could be that he was the son of Thomas Reeves whose children remain unidentified; however in the 1810 census of Gallatin County, there was a male child 10-15 in his household. That family relocated from Virginia's Augusta/Rockingham county area in the mid to late 1790's which would coincide with Thomas C. Reeves' birthplace of Virginia. By 1820, the children of Thomas Reeves cannot be found in the area where that extended family settled, i.e. Gallatin, Shelby, Woodford, Franklin and Henry counties in eastern Kentucky. In at least one document from Henry County circa 1820, Thomas Reeves is referred to as Thomas, Sr. which may be an indication that he had a son Thomas.
