NB This individual has not been researched in detail.William Reeves is the fifth of ten known children of William REEVES and his wife Rachel (nee FLAKE).
On the 1891 census, William appears in his parents' household at 9 Bitterne Terrace, Bitterne. He is 7 years old and was born at St Denys.
By the time of the 1901 census, William is no longer living with his parents who remain at 9 Bitterne Terrace, Bitterne.
The "National Roll of the Great War" carries on page 320 of the Southampton volume the following entry in the right hand column
REEVES, W., Private, 1st Hampshire Regiment
He was called up from the Reserve in August 1914, and was immediately drafted to France, where he fought at Mons. He also took part in many subsequent engagements throughout the whole period of hostilities, and was twice wounded, and once gassed in action. He was discharged in 1919, and holds the Mons Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals.

There are three entries on Page 320 of the Southampton volume of the "National Roll of the Great War" sharing the same address of 3 Bath Road Bitterne and the same reference prefix of X5379. William's parents were living at 3 Heathlands Terrace, Bath Road, Bitterne at the time of the 1911 census and it seems probable they were still living there in 1919.Entry X5379A is for Reeves, G. and entry X5379B is for Reeves, H.
