He may be the William Reeves who married Martha Brown on 22 December 1867 in Meriwether Co., GA.
William A. Reeves signed several receipts for his distributive share of his father’s estate between 1865 and 1869.
The 1870 Pike County Census shows him in HH 108/108: William A. Reeves, 29, Farm Laborer, GA; Martha, 33, Keeping House, GA; Willie M., 1, At Home, male, GA.
The family was in Meriwether Co., GA, in 1880. They were enumerated in GMD 1213: W. A. Reeves, 40, GA/GA/GA; Martha, 44, GA/GA/GA; Willie, 10, male, GA/GA/GA; Benjamin, 9, GA/GA/GA; Susan, 7, GA/GA/GA; Joseph, 4, GA/GA/GA.
W. A. Reeves appears in 1900 as a widower in the household of his daughter Susie and her husband J. E. Reeves, the son of John Clay and Katie Reeves.
William A. Reeves applied for a Confederate pension in Troup County and died there in 1907. James William Knight gave an affidavit for his application.
It is possible, but no means certain, that Willie Reeves, son of William A., was James W. Reeves (born February 1870) who married Mary Reeves, daughter of John Clay and Catherine Johnson Reeves. Certainly Joseh E. Reeves, son of Clay and Katie, married Susan Reeves, daughter of his uncle William.
