The Death of William E. Reeves.
There will be no inquest in the case of William E. Reeves, the young man who died in Lafayette on Wednesday in consequence of injuries sustained in the accident to the Somerville Express on the New Jersey Central Railroad at Communipaw on the 10th instant, County Physician Converse said this morning that the reason of this is that neither Dr. Lampson, who attended the sufferer, nor the undertaker who buried him, sent him any notification of the death. The body was taken to Elizabeth, and there buried. As a coroner cannot act without having bis jury view the body, no inquest can be held. The only course now to pursue is to order an investigation by a justice of the peace. Dr. Converse said that when proper notice of the death has been sent to him, he will probably have such an investigation made. Reeves was the only one of the eight persons injured by the accident who sustained fatal injuries.
