The Arkansas biography of William C. Reeves names his siblings as John Reeves and Mary J. Reeves who married Thomas Green, but there is no record in the probate of the estate of a child Mary or mention of Thomas Green. There is, however, Jane White and her husband Isaac White who are named in Smith County probate documents as having a share in the slaves of William White. The Mary J. as mentioned in Goodspeed's biography may be Mary Jane who married Isaac White; however, the transcription of the family bible of William Reeves does not name a daughter Mary J. or Jane, but a scan of the original Bible lists an unnamed child born 7 Apr 1834.

There is a William Reeves in Smith County in 1840. However this William appeared unmarried and without a family.
