Narrative

William appears to have still held to the Catholic faith rather than Protestant as he commends his soul to "oure lady Saynt Mary & to all the copeny of hevyn" in addition to God. He mentions "Johan my wyffe" and makes provision for her to keep his children but doesn't name them.

Although the will of William is dated 17 Jun 1541 according to the Essex Archives, part of the yeare date itself is missing and may read 1540.
