The marriage record gives his parents names as Joseph Rive and Jesette Mearchange. There is a birth and baptism record for Pierre Rive from L'Enfant-Jésus-de-la-Pointe-aux-Trembles which states he was born 24 Dec 1780 and 25 Dec 1780. The record is hard to read but appears to give the parents names as Joseph Rive and (?) Beauchams.

Baptism and/or birth dates are given for Pierre's children in the Varennes, Quebec vital and church records. The record for daughter Mare Isidore gives the father's name as Pierre Noel Reeve. Similarly, his burial record gives his name as Pierre Noël Rives. He was buried at Varennes 2 Aug 1846.
