Hambleton Reeves is listed in the Franklin County, North Carolina census of 1800 but by the 1820 census he was living in White County, Tennessee where he remained until 1840 when he is listed in DeKalb County, Tennessee.

There is a record in White County, Tennessee Book A, page 119, Surveys 27 April 1824 to 28 March 1828 stating that the land was surveyed for Hamilton (sic Hambleton) Reeves (From: Records of Early Settlers From State and County Archives concerning White County).

In DeKalb County, Tennessee Deed Book B, Page 331, on 4 May 1843 Hambleton Reeves deeded to Thomas Leek 150 acres on the Caney Fork. (From: Land Deed Genealogy of DeKalb County, Tennessee, 1838 - 1869).

Hambleton Rives is not listed in the 1850 census but his widowed wife, Ann is listed in the household of their son Hambleton in Dekalb County. By 1860, Ann was living in Butler County, Kentucky in a household with Rebecca Cherry who appears her daughter. In that same neighborhood, only one or two residences apart are Freeman Reeves and Richard Reeves with their families.
