Reliques notes that he made his home for many years in Christian county, Kentucky, where he had large farming interests and where he served as county surveyor. Mr. Rives now resides with his daughter Mrs. Elliott Beard in Shelbyville, Ky.

Horace P. Rives, 84, Dies In Shelbyville

Shelbyville, Ky. July 12 - Horace Plummer Rives, 84 years old, died at 1:30 o'clock this morning after a short illness at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. B. Beard, Magnolia avenue. He was a native of Montgomery County, Tennessee, removing later to Christian County, Kentucky where he served as County Surveyor and civil engineer, and removing here ten years ago.
He is survived by one other daughter, Mrs. B. H. Armstrong, St. Augustine, Fla., and one son, Harry Rives, Pembroke, and a sister Mrs. Robert Garrett, Shelbyville. Funeral services will be held at the residence of Mrs. Beard at 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon by the Rev. Dr. C. W. Elsey, pastor of the Shelbyville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
