Reliques states he was a resident of Petersberg, Tennessee his entire life. It also states "He was a saddler and harness maker, an elder in the
Presbyterian Church, and active in the temperance movement. During the war he served as a private in Co. C, 8th Tenn. Inf., C. S. A."
