In the 1790 census of Richland County SC, Silas Rives is the head of a household that contains only himself and 4 slaves.

Silas apparently moved to Savannah, Georgia as his estate was probated in Chatham County, Georgia and he was referred to as "of Savannah." The estate was probated in 1803, with an inventory made 23 Sep 1802. William Rives, the administrator, names Silas as his brother in the inventory papers. Mentioned in the account papers for Silas Rives are orders from Green Rives to a Mr. Turner. One from Henry Rive to John Hargrove. One to Wm Rives from Silas Rives. Another to Sterling Williamson from Abiah Croft. These establish this is the same Silas from Richland County, South Carolina.

According to a notice in the Columbian Museum, 17 Sep 1802, Silas Rives died in Savannah on the 15th.
