The will of Thomas' father Timothy Rives mentions a suit and controversy between Timothy and the wife of his deceased son John Turner Rives filed in Washington County, Georgia. Harriett Rives, the widow of John Turner Rives was administratrix of his estate and her brother-in-law Thomas was acting as agent for his father.

Inventory taken in 1863. It seems the estate wasn't finished until much later around 1872. Hunter B. Rives was the administrator.

A statement by included in the estate packet from an interrogation of Thomas J. Rives conducted in 1871 for a case in which Hunter B. Rives was complainant and Charlotte M Bissell was defendant.
I know Thomas Rives deceased late of Dallas County Alabama. He died in the year 1863. His children are Charlotte M Bissell aged about 49 resides in Camden South Carolina. Betsey E. Lang aged about 46 Hunter B. Rives aged about 42 Residing in Dallas County Alabama, Thomas J. Rives aged 40 residing in Dallas County Alabama. He also had a daughter Martha W Boykin who died in the year 1854 leaving Four children as follows, Martha W Miller aged about 32 Residing in Conecuh County Alabama, Burwell Boykin aged about 30 residing in Dallas County Alabama, Samuel F. Boykin aged about 26 residing in Dallas County Alabama and Hunter R Boykin aged 22 residing in Camden South Carolina.


There is a deed recorded in Wilcox County, Alabama having to do with some securities put down for or by Thomas Rives and W. W. Rives. In this deed, W. W. Rives refers to "my sister Elizabeth E. Rives" and "my sister Charlotte M. Rives." H. B. Rives was witness.
