From Reliques of the Rives:
George Ryves, of Woodstock, Oxfordshire, Gentleman, born about 1656, died in 1718, is the only issue of his father recorded by Hutchins and the only child whose baptism is not recorded in the Woodstock register. According to his will, given below, he resided at Woodstock and owned lands in Stansfield, Combe and Wooton:

(Seal bearing Ryves arms.)
He married, 1st, Margaret, of whom the only evidence is that contained in the notice of her burial as recorded in the Wood stock register, as follows: "Margaret wife of Mr. George Ryves was buried September 12th 1695."
George Ryves married, 2nd, in 1696, Dorothy, as appears from his will (1718) and the mention therein of "my deare and loving wife Dorothy." The latter left a will recorded in the Registers of the Archdeaconery of Oxford, Series II, vol. 17, No. 173, which makes mention of a daughter (apparently by a previous marriage), Dorothy Thompson, widow of William Thompson, and the latter's children, James, Alexander and others. George Ryves left no issue by his second marriage.
There is the following additional information concerning George:
George Ryves was the town clerk for Woodstock, Oxon where he rented the property of 14-16 Park Street from Sir Littleton Osbaldeston. The freehold was subsequently acquired by the family and was eventually passed down to the Holloway family by way of George's grand-daughter Elizabeth Ryves who married Benjamin Holloway. George tended to spell his surname Rives and it is engraved as such on his daughter Jane's (Reade) memorial at St Mary Magdalene Church, Woodstock.
