Wiki Stats - End May 2014

The total number of pages in the Wiki (as at 1 June 2014) now stands at 5935 (previously 5866, 5721, 5660), an increase of 69 pages during the past month. Of these 1237 pages (was 1208, 1167, 1160) begin with number and are most probably a date related gleaning. We currently have 2388 wiki pages categorised as "People", of which 1973 begin with the letter "R".
We are within striking distance of our 6000th wiki page.

TRP Users

We ended May with 166 user accounts on TRP, with three new members successfully activating their accounts during the month. We welcome Leah, Nathan and Valerie and look forward to their contributions to TRP.

Yet Another Country

Our mast head continually reminds us that TRP aspires to be global, although our coverage beyond USA and England is "muted". I've recently been researching an individual for inclusion on the Virtual WW1 Memorial pages. He sadly died on 31 May 1916 on board HMS Queen Mary which sank during the Battle of Jutland. (See Wikipedia.) He was clearly a long term Royal Navy man and in the early 1900's spent some time on the island of Malta, where the British maintained a large naval base until 1979. His first two children were born in Malta, but neither survived to adulthood. So we now have a page with the geographic freetag MLT, the ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 code for Malta.
