Wiki Stats - End August 2018

The total number of pages in the Wiki (as at 1 September 2018) was 7982 (previously 7845, 7617, 7449) an increase of 137 pages during the month. Of the total, 1590 pages (was 1566, 1542, 1520) begin with a number and are most probably a date related gleaning. We currently have 3480 wiki pages categorised as "People", of which 3032 begin with the letter "R".

This the fourth month in a row where more than 100 new pages have been added to TRP. Whilst the vast majority are the handy work of Beverly and Jonathan, as noted below its good to see others making their first contributions. It does get easier with practice.

TRP Users

We ended August 2018 with 357 user accounts registered in TRP, an increase of eleven over the previous month. The revised enrolment process we've been using since July seems to be working more smoothly, with eight new members successfully activating their account during August. We welcome new community members Andy, Lloyd, Judy, John, Susie, Melissa, Lamont and Kathy and we look forward to reading their contributions to TRP.

If you have yet to do so, please set a meaningful name for yourself as described in First Steps - Part 1. It isn't difficult and only takes a couple of minutes to do.

DNA Group 20

This should have made the front page last month, but what with one thing and another I'm afraid it got over looked.

Sally arranged for her brother (who we now know to be James) to be tested way back in 2005. The results were registered in her married surname and they have sat in ungrouped until June this year. Clay tested in June 2016 and again his results were added to the ungrouped pool. Whilst his results matched those for James, he also had a significant number of matches (33/37) with another surname. With no obvious Reeves connection a new group wasn't declared at that time.

In June 2018, the test results for Craig came in and he matches Clay and James (37/37). Beverly sent a few e-mail and was able to determine there was a likely Reeves connection, so we now have yet another DNA group in the Reeves DNA Project.. Stop Press - 8000th Wiki Page

Whilst the above chart approaches the 8000 grid-line, as noted, we were eight pages short of that number. But not for long ....

Late on 1st September, Jonathan created a page for the 1820 US Federal Census of Edgefield County in South Carolina to record the names of the individuals (head of household) found there at that time.

I'll need to adjust the chart axis for next month .......
