Transcript

In the name of God amen, the sixteenth day of May Annoq Dom 1698 I Walter Reeve of the County of Burlington & province of New West Jersey yeoman, being weak in body, but of sound & quiet? mind & memory, the lords name be praised therefore knowing the shortness and uncertainty of this my transitory life, and being therefore desirous to sett my house in order, as concerning my worldly (?) which the lord of his mercy hath bestowed upon me Do therefore (?) to make & ordain this my last will & testament in manner and form following.
First chiefly, I bequeath my soul into the protection of my God that gave it, & my body to the earthe from whence it came, to be decently buried at the discretion of my executrix here after to be nominated
... my will and mind is that all such just debts ... are due and owing from me to my person...be paid and discharged forth? of my goods & ... my executrix.
Item I give and bequeath ... Anne my wife, the house and pl... whereon I now dwell, with all the ... and appurtenances thereunto belonging ... to hold the same to her my sd wife ... and immediately after her de... of her body by me begotten or to ... forever, pursuant to a deed of gift by me ... and seal bearing date the first .... day of December, Anno 1690.
Item I ...bequeath unto my son John Reeve one shilling ... in full satisfaction of his child's part nd portion.
Item, I give and bequeath to my Daughter Susanna five shillings.
Item I give and bqueath to my son William one hundred and sixty acres of that tract of land purchased of George Hutchinson lying northwest of (?) out of my now dwelling house l? creek side.
Item, I give and bequeath to my son Joseph all that two hundred acres of land lately purchased of Peter Dale & most commonly called by the name of Pine (?) adjoining the land of (formerly) Abigail Perkins now Abigail Rasser.
Item, I give and bequeath to Anne my loving wife all ye rest of my goods & chattels to be equally by her divided amongst all my children gotten or to be begotten upon the body of Anne my said wife (?) they shall attain to the age respectively of one & twenty years.
And lastly, I do hereby nominate, ordain & make my said loving wife Anne sole executor of this my last will and testament, I do hereby disannul & make void all former will or wills by me at any time heretofore made willed & declared & do declare this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.
