This Indenture made the fourth day of March in the Twentieth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty six Between Benjamin Rives of Prince George County and Timothy Rives of Brunswick County of the one part and Thomas Jeffries of Brunswick County the other party Witnesseth that the said Benjamin Rives and Timothy Rives for Divers good causes and consideration them hereunto moveing but more especially for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds current Money if Virginia to them the sd Benjamin Rieves & Timothy Rives in hand paid before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Benjamin Rieves & Timothy Rieves doth there by acknowledg and themselves to be there with fully satisfied contented and paid and there of and there from doth acquit release and discharge the sd Thomas Jeffris his heirs Exirs and admors hath and by these presents doth for them selves their heirs Exors admors Grant Bargain sell remise releas and for ever quit clame and confirm unto the sd Thomas Jeffris his heirs and assigns for ever two certain tracks or parcels of land situate lying and being in the parrish of saint andrew & County of Brunswick on the south side of Maherin river containing by estimation one tract of two hundred acres & the other parcil fifty acres more or less excepting fity acres more or less at the uper end of a tract or parcil of two hundred acres aforesd. That the said Benjamin Rives George Rives and Thomas Jeffris sold and made over by deed in wrighting unto Timothy Rives the sd deed baring date before the date of these presents and the said tract or parcil bounded as followeth (to wit) the tract or parcil of two hundred acres Beginning at a red oak on the east side of the Great swamp a corner tree of the sd land that Benjamin Rives George Rives & Thomas Jeffris sold to Timothy Rives thence south fifty degrees east fifty seven poles to a pine thence south five degrees east one hundred and thirty four poles to a spanish oak then south east ninty seven poles to a white oak then north fifty degrees east two hundred and eighteen poles to a pine a corner tree of the said land that was made over and sold to Timothy Rives aforesaid by the aforesd Benjamin Rives George Rives & Thomas Jeffris and by the said line of the sd land that was made over an sold to Timothy Rives north sixty five degrees west two hundred & sixty poles to the beginning and the other parcil of fifty acres more or less is part of the said land that Benjamin Rives George Rives & Thomas Jeffris sold to Timothy Rives and at the lower corner of the said land lying towards it south east and bound as followeth (to wit) Beginning at the mouth of a branch between where George Rives did live and Thomas Jeffrises plantation of a white oak and long a line of marked trees made by the said Riveses and the said Jeffries & up the said branch esterdly to a gum and then a norwest course to a live oak and a north east course to a white oak and then east course to a white oak & then north east course to the outside line of the said land To have and to hold the said lands premises herein and hereby or ment or mentioned or intended to be herein and hereby granted bargained & sold to gether with all privilidges rents issues profits and appurtenances there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining excepting the said fifty acres that before was excepted and sold unto the said Timothy Rives part of the said tract of two hundred acres here in mentioned unto the said Thomas Jeffries his heirs for ever so that neither the said Benjamin Reives Timothy their heirs exors or admors or any other person or persons whatsoever shall at any time hereafter have any manner of right title interest property clame or demand of in or unto the aforesd two hundred acres of land except the land before excepted unto Timothy Rives the sd parcil or fifty acres of land more or less or any part or parcil there of but that the same with all and singular the appertenances there unto belonging & shall be & for ever here after ensure to the only proper use & behoof of him the sd Thomas Jeffris his heirs and assigns for ever & furthermore the sd Benjamin Rieves Timothy Rives for themselves their heirs exors & admors doth by these presents promise covenant & agree to and with the sd Thomas Jeffris that they the sd Benj Rives Timothy Rives and their heirs &c shall & will for ever defend this presents bargain & sale unto the sd Thomas Jeffris his heirs & assigns for ever by a general warrant against all & all maner of persons whatsoever.
