In the name of God Amen, I, William Reeves of Granvil County in the province of north Carolina Being sick but of perfect mind and memory but Calling to mind that it is appointed by allmighty god for all men to Die and therefore knowing my last to be as all mens is, Do therefore make and ordain this present Wrighting to be my Last Will and Testament and my body commit to the Ground to be buried in a Christian & Decent like manor at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named & my soul into the hands of God that gave it, and as to Such Worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with, I give & Bequeath in manner and form following.
Imprimis : I give & bequeth to my son William Reeves one shilling Sterling
Item, I give & bequeth to my wife Margarett Reeves one Shilling Sterling in lieu of her Dower of thirds
Item, I give & bequeth to my Loving Son James Reeves for his kind favours one negro boy named chance to him and his heirs forever
Item, I give & bequeth to my son Benjamin Reeves one Shilling Sterling
Item, I give & bequeth to my Son birges Reeves one Shilling Sterling
Item, I give & bequeth to my daughter (Elizabeth written first, erased and overwritten) Anna Reeves one Shilling Sterling
Item My will and desire is that all the rest of my Estate, all my negrows & stock of cattel hogs horses sheep & all my hous hold goods & land with all my Estate both both (sic) real & personal Be Sold at afore Sale by my Executors and the money arising therefrom be equally divided between my Sons and Daughters here after named Viz James Reeves, Mallichy Reeves, Isack Reeves, Elizabeth Hodges, Mary Carpenter, Sara Hicks and Ollive Reeves.
Item, My Will and Desire is that James Reeves and Mallichy Reeves be my executors of this my last will and Testament and Do by this present wrighting make void all other Wills by me made and Do hereby acknoledg this and none other to be my last will and as witness my hand an seal this Second Day of Augst one thousand Seven hundred & fifty one.

At a Court held for Granvl County at the Ct. House Decemr the 3rd, 1751 ~
The within Last Will & Testament of William Reeves, decd. was Proved in Ct. by ye. Oaths of Jonathan White Esq.: and William Hicks & on motion ordered to be Recorded Agt which Margaret Rieves Relict of ye. sd. William Rieves objected James Rieves and Malachi Rieves qualified as Extors.
