Transcript

In the Name of God Amen I John Reeve of Great Baddow in the County of Essex yeoman being sick in Body but of sound and perfect mind and memory do make my Last Will and Testament as follows,
First I give and devise unto my Two Daughters Mary and Sarah All that my freehold messuage or tenement with the outhouses Buildings Stable yard Garden and Appurtenances thereunto belonging situate lying and being in Chelmsford in the said County of Essex adjoining to the messuage known by the name of sign of the Wheat Sheaff and now in the Occupation of William Seex his undertenants or assigns To have and to hold the same premises unto my said two daughters Mary and Sarah and their heirs for ever severally as tenants in common and not as joint tenants
Also I give and devise all my copyhold or customary messuages lands & tenements lying and being in Great Baddow aforesaid and Hatfield Peverel in the said County of Essex and all other my lands and tenements whatsoever lying and being in the same County unto my only son John Reeve his heirs and assigns forever All my goods chattels ready money and personal estate whatsoever subject to the payment of my debts and funeral expences I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Sarah Reeve her executors and Administrators And I do constitute and appoint her sole executrix of this my will and hereby revoke all former wills by me made
In witness whereof I the said John Reeve have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth Day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Nine.

The testator was of the Parish within named and died the 4th inst.

This will was Proved on the twenty second day of March in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven Hundred and Sixty five before the Reverend John Tindal Clerk Batchelor of Laws Surrogate &c by the oath of Sarah Reeve Widow the Relict of the deceased and sole executrix to whom Admon of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said decd was granted and committed she being first sworn duly to Admr.
