In 1841, John was living in Sandon, Essex (next to Great Baddow) in the household of his son-in-law George Riley. His age was 85, born in County. In addition, the household contained George Riley (50), Ellenor Riley (50), Thomas Riley (25), and Rich Riley (20). Although Ellenor was listed as 50 on the 1841 census, later records show her birth around the early-mid 1780s which fits with the baptism of Helen from 1783.
