Transcription

This Indenture this 4th day of March 1801 Between Thomas Reeves of the County of Woodford & State of Kentucky of the one Part and John Jackson of the Same County & State aforesaid of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Reeves Heir to Thomas Reeves Deceased for & in consideration of the Sum of One Hundred Dollars Current Money by the Said Jackson to the Said Reeves in hand Paid at or before the Insealing (sic) and Delivering of these Presents have Granted Bargained and Sold unto the Said John Jackson his Heirs & Assigns forever one equal undivided Seventh Part of a Tract of Land lying and being in the County aforesaid on the waters of Glenns Creek Containing by Survey Eight hundred and Twenty Acres formerly the Property of Thomas Reeves Deceased be the Same more or less, which is bounded as following To Wit Beginning on the West line of a preemption of one Thousand Acres Surveyed for John Williams & Obed McCracken at a Sugartree Hickory & Elm Marked T. R. Runing thence north Seventy degrees West 400 Poles crossing a branch at 20 poles and 40 poles & a small branch at 380 poles to a Hickory & Mulberry Thence South 20 West 395 Poles Crossing a branch to Two White Oaks, Thence S 70 E 275 Poles to a Black Walnut Honey Locust & Buckeye on a ridge Thence N 45 E 420 poles with William & McCrackins line To the Beginning Together With every Singular Profits & advantage to the Said Land belonging or in any wise pertaining thereto, To Have & To hold the Said one equal seventh Part of the aforesaid Tract 820 acres of land to the Said John Jackson his Heirs & Assigns forever, and to no other use Interest or Purpose Whatsoever and that the Said Reeves Shall & Will forever Warrant and defend the right an Title of the aforesaid land with its appurtenances to the said John Jackson His Heirs and Assigns forever against the challenge claim property demand or molestation of me my Heirs Executors or Administrators or any other Person Claiming by or under me, but that it is agreed by the Parties that this deed is only to a relinguishment of my claim In Witness Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the day & year written

This Indenture of Bargain & Sale from Thomas Reeves To John Jackson was acknowledged by the said Thomas to be his Act and Deed and ordered to be Recorded.
