p. 2, Ordered that Joseph Reeves be appointed overseer of the road in the room of William Newcomb & to have the same hands

pp. 32-4, A writ of Ad quod damnum awarded James Parks (for the benefit of the kin of John Olliver deceased) for the purpose of condemning a seat for a water grist & saw mill being returned together with the inquisition of the Jury by virtue thereof which is ordered to be recorded & is in these words to wit In obedience to a writ of Ad quod damnum issued from the worshipful the county court of Fleming for the purpose of inquiring into the damages which may be sustained by the creation of a water grist & saw mill that is about building & not completed by James Parks for benefit of the heirs of John Oliver deceased on Fleming creek they owning the land on one side of the bed thereof being their own & have proceeded to summon and empannel a jury for that purpose to wit Mathias Chrisman, Henry Littell, James Collins, George Bishop, Thomas Brand, William Jackson senr, John Jackson, Peter Hysong, Peter Johnston, William Loftiss, Jabez Reeves & Richard Moore who being empannelled & sworn do return their verdict in the following words &c to wit: We of the Jury being summoned, empannelled sworn & charged by the sheriff do report and say that the abuttment of the dam shall be continued at the place where the abutment of the saw mill dam now stands and that the height of the dam shall not exceed eleven feet and agreeably to said writ we have proceeded and laid off proper metes & bounds the quantity of one acre of ground on the opposite side of said creek the property of (?) which is bounded as follows to wit Beginning at a stake thence down the creek South fifty seven degrees west sixteen poles to a beach elm & water beach Thence down Licking north thirty three deg west ten poles to a honey locust beech and sycamore Thence North fifty seven degrees East sixteen poles to a stake thence South thirty three degrees East sixteen poles to a stake Thence South thirty three degrees East ten poles to the Beginning containing one acre & do report & say that the said acre of land so laid off is of the value of fifteen dollars and that the stream is comparatively small (?) of no damages on account of the navigation neither is the passage of fish obstructed by the erection of the said mill or mills and dam and that the mansion house of the proprietors nor the offices, curtilages or gardens thereunto immediately belonging nor orchards will be overflowed by the erection of the said mill or mills and the said dam and that in our opinion the health of the neighbours will not be annoyed by the stagnation of the waters and finally that no other damage will be sustained by persons either above or below by the erection of the said mill or mills and dam - Given under our hands & seals this 30th day of September 1807. p. 44, Ordered that Samuel Powell & Richard George be appointed to allot the hands to work under John Cline the overseer of the road from Reeve’s mill to the ford of Licking at N Fosters in Montgomery County

p. 81, On motion of Samuel Filson ordered that Charles Harper, Ferdinan Vennatten, Jacob Kellion, & Benjamin Rice or any three of them being first sworn do view & mark out the nearest & best way for a road from George Taylors on the Clover road to intersect the road leading from Reeve’s mill to Nathaniel Fosters on Licking & make report of the conveniences & inconveniences attending the same.

p. 82, Ordered that Asa Martin & Robert Armstrong be appointed to allot the hands to work under Thomas Horneblet the overseer of the road from Reeve’s mill to the clover road by John Waltons.

p. 83, Ordered that Joseph Reeves the overseer of the upper Blue Lick road from the crossing of Fleming creek to the Junction with the Washington road be appointed to work on the same from the said Junction to Licking river & the same hands to work thereon

pp. 93-4, The report of the reviewers of the road from George Taylor’s on the Clover road to intersect the road leading from Reeve’s mill to Nathaniel Fosters on Licking was this day returned & ordered to be recorded which is in these words &c viz, Sirs after being first sworn agreeable to the call of the order we have viewed & marked out the way agreeable to the same & do report that the road runs through the lands of George Taylor, Charles Harper, Wm Markwell, Henry Shaw, Benjamin Royse, William Davis, Ferdinand Vannattin & unknown lands to Reeve’s mill road leading to Nathaniel Fosters on Licking and by the approbation of the above named persons except William Markwell and do also believe the same to be a good & convenient way. Given under our hands this 30th day of November 1808. Charles Harper, Fardinand Vanatten, Benjamin Royse. Ordered a summons issue to William Markwell one of the proprietors of the land through which said road is reported to run to appear here next court to shew cause (if any he can) why said road shall not be established agreeably to sd report.

p. 100, The subpoena awarded to summon the proprietor of the land through which the road from George Taylors on the Clover road to intersect the road from Reeve’s mill to Fosters on Licking was returned executed by the sheriff & William Marshall the proprietor objecting by his counsel the establishment of said road it is ordered that a writ of Ad quod damnum be awarded him commanding the sheriff to summon a Jury to meet on the premises on the 3rd Saturday in this month to assess the damages he will sustain by reason of the establishment of said road & return their inquisition to the next court.

p. 139, Ordered that Jacob Killion be appointed overseer of the road from Reeve’s mill to Licking River instead of William Hyatt and that he have such hands to work under him as may be allotted to him by James Byers Esqr.

p. 140, On the motion of Elijah Reeves Ordered that a writ of ad quod damnum issue directed to the sheriff of this county directing him to summon a Jury to meet upon the lands of said Elijah Reeves on Foxe’s creek where he is about to erect a water grist mill the said Elijah owning the lands on both sides of the creek and the bed thereof and that the sheriff execute said writ on the 20th of this month & make report to the next court according to law

p. 144, William Logan (orphan of Hugh Logan deceased) over the age of fourteen years came into court & by & with the consent thereof made choice of Michael Hedrick as his guardian who entered into bond with Joseph Reeves his security in the penalty of Five hundred pounds conditioned according to law.

p. 161, On motion of William Harper ordered that Thomas Price, Ephraim Donevan, George Bishop & Jabez Reeve or any three of them being first sworn do view & mark out the nearest and best way for a road from the end of Richard Moore’s lane to intersect the lower Blue Lick road near the house of William Layton & from thence to the county line on a direction to Metcalfes mill and also to review the way already viewed for a road from the state road at the end of Abirum Hutsons lane to the said Laytons & report to the next county court the comparative conveniences & inconveniences attending opening either of the same.

p. 166, On the motion of William Haslett Ordered that Joel Havens, George Taylor Senr, John McKee, & Elijah Jones or any three of them being first sworn do view and mark out the nearest and best way for a road from William Hasletts to Reeve’s mill & report to the court the conveniences & inconveniences attending the same.

p. 172, Ordered that David Newcomb Jr be appointed overseer of the upper blue Lick road from the crossing of Fleming creek to Licking river instead of Joseph Reeve who is discharged and to have the same hands said Reeve had (to wit), Thomas Newcomb, Mathias Chrisman, Levi Wilson, Joseph Scott, Jacob Chrisman, John Chrisman, Benjamin Tucker, Alexander Givens, William Givins, Isaiah Givins, Mordica Williams & Abraham Williams

7 May 1810
pp. 180-1, A report of a way for a road from the end of Richard Moores lane to intersect the lower Blue Lick road at or near Wm A Laytons and from thence to the county line on a direction to Metcalfes mill was this day returned & ordered to be recorded & is in these words &c (to wit) We the subscribers having been appointed at the last court for the county of Fleming to view and mark the nearest and best way for a road Beginning at the State road at the end of Richard Moores lane to intersect the lower Blue Lick road near the house of Wm A Layton and from thence to the county line on a direction to Metcalfes mill & having been first sworn have viewed & marked the same & also have reviewed the road beginning at the state road at Abraham Hutsons lane running to intersect the lower Blue Lick road near the house of Wm A Layton do say and report as follows that the road beginning at the end of Abraham Hutsons lane cannot be made as good a road as [repeated phrase here] the road Beginning at the mouth of Richard Moores lane unless at least six times as much more labour shall be expended on it and we retain our doubts whether it can be ever made as good unless more labour is expended on it than our neighbourhood can bear. We further say that the road Beginning at the end of Richard Moores land can be made a good waggon road. In our opinions will much better answer conveniences of our neighbourhood and the clearing it out will not be deemed as a burthen by our neighbours, whereas the other road would be of but little public benefit and a great burthen on the people to clear. Do say we all — February 12th 1810. Ephraim Donavan, Thomas Price, George Bishop, Jabez Reeves. Ordered that said road be established agreeably to said report it appearing to the court that the proprietors of the land through which the road is proposed to be conducted have given their written consent thereto — & it ordered that William G Lowry be appointed overseer thereof & that he open the same thirty feet wide & that he have all the hands within 1 mile on each side thereof to work thereon under him in opening it.

p. 182, Ordered that William Bradford infant orphan of John Bradford deceased be by the clerk of this court bound an apprentice to Jabez Reeve for the full term and time of eighteen years to learn the art & mystery of farming whereupon an Indenture to that effect was accordingly signed acknowledged and ordered to be recorded.

2 July 1810
p. 189, Ordered that William G Lowry Esqr overseer of the road from the end of Richard Moores lane to intersect the lower Blue Lick road at or near Wm H. Laytons & from thence to the county line on a direction to Metcalfes mill be assisted in keeping the same in repair by Jabez Reeve, Asa Reeve Senr, Zachary Chord, Wm H Layton, Solomon Gregg, Andrew Riddle, John Cord, James Gordan and his own hands.

pp. 203-9, route of a new state road is documented:
p. 204 indicates that it will pass through William Reeves’ land: “... to a branch of Poplar run. Thence down said run through the lands of William Reeves, Wm Harper & George Bishop crossing poplar run between said Bishops house & Tan yard ....”

p. 207-8 indicates that the road is being opened, with Richard Moore appointed as overseer of a portion from his own lane to John Herster’s, with the list of hands to work him to include William Reeve, Asa Reeves Junr, & Geo Reeves

p. 260, Polly Stinton, infant orphan of William Stinson deceased over the age of fourteen years came into court & by & with the consent thereof made choice of Benjamin Reeve as her guardian who entered into bond with Spencer Reeves his security in the penalty of two hundred dollars conditioned according to the law.

p. 308, Ordered that Samuel Filson be appointed overseer of the road from George Taylors to Reeves mill road by F. Vanatine & that the said Vanatine be appointed to allot the hands to work under said Filson.

p. 332, A list of hands to work under the overseer of the road from the Clover road at George Taylors to Reeves Mill was this day returned & ordered to be recorded & is as follows to wit [no list documented]

p. 343, Ordered that Berry Hayden Ferdinand Vanattin Spencer Reeves & Henry Markwell, or any three of them being first sworn do appraise in current money the slaves if any & personal estate of Thomas Gully deceased & return their appraisment to the next county court

p. 375, On motion of Spencer Reeves ordered that Amariah Bonham, Abraham Enos John Rice & James Logan or any three of them being first sworn before a magistrate of this county do view & mark out a way for a road from said Reeves mill on Foxes creek to Susannah Hills living on the State road leading from the mouth of Triplett to the Little Sandy Salt works and report to the next county court the conveniences & inconveniences attending the same

pp. 378-9, A report of the view of a road from Reeves Mill to intersect the road from Taylors to Martins Mill was this day returned & ordered to be recorded & is as follows to wit, Being first sworn we the reviewers have reviewed & marked a way for a road from Reeves mill to intersect the road from Henry Taylor to Martins mill where the old ?Tan? road intersects the said road the nearest & best way the said road running through the land of Elijah Reeve, Thomas Hamlet & Spencer Reeves — William Filson, Amariah Bonham, Barton Smoot. & ordered a summons to issue against the proprietors of the land through which said road is viewed to shew cause (if they can) why said road shall not be established agreeably to said report

p. 383, The report the road as reviewed & marked from Reeves Mill to the state road returned this day & ordered to be recorded & is as follows August 17th 1813 we the undernamed reviewers hath first been Sworn and hath reviewed and marked a road from Reeves Mill to intersect the state road at Susannah Hills agreeable to the order obtained by said Reeves, running through the lands of Shedrick Hyatt, William Royse, Levy Hopper & Samuel Hopper — we the reviewers doth agree Amariah Bonham — John Royse — James Cagen & ordered that said road be established agreeably to said report the proprietors of the land through which said road runs having consented to the establishment thereof by their written certificate filed & ordered that John Rice be appointed overseer of the same & that James Filson & Benjamin Reeves be appointed to allot the hands to work thereon.

p. 394, On motion of Joseph Reeves (who gave bond with John Summerville Jr his security according to law) license is granted him to keep a Tavern at his house in this county for one year from this time

p. 417, Ordered that Spencer Reeves be by the sheriff summoned to appear here at the next July court to shew cause if any he can why the road established from Reeves mill to intersect the state road on Tripletts creek at Wm Hills should not be discontinued.

4 July 1814
p. 424, Spencer Reeves who was summoned to appear here on this day to shew cause if any he had why on order of this Court at their last October term thereof establishing on his motion a road from Reeves’ mill to intersect the State road at Susannah Hills, & all proceedings relative thereto & had thereupon should not be set aside, this day personally appeared in court and expressing a conviction of the irregularity of the the (sic) proceedings & that the same would be reversed upon ?rent? of error consented that the proceedings should be quashed whereupon and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that said road has not been cut out It is ordered that the whole proceedings with respect to the said road be quashed & set aside.

pp. 424-5, On a motion of Spencer Reeves, ordered that William (?), Benjamin Johnson, Amariah Bonham & Ephraim Barnes or any three of them being first sworn do view & mark out the nearest & best way for a road from said Reeves mill to intersect the state road between Susannah Lees & James McIntyres & report to this court the conveniences & inconveniences attending the same.

p. 466, Ordered that William Givens be and he is hereby appointed overseer of the road from the upper blue Lick to the crossing of Fleming creek instead of Jacob Keil who is discharged and that he have the same hands to work thereon to wit, Jacob Keil, Joseph Reeve, Mathias Chrisman, John Chrisman, Benjamin Tucker, Alexander Givens, Isaiah Givens, Levi Wilson, Joseph Scott, Jacob Chrisman, Robert Givens, John Morin, (?) Colbert, John Crawford, Jacob Crawford, Jacob Reel, Daniel Jarvis, John Brown, John Summerville, Thomas Newcomb, James Woods, Samuel Ellitt, William Grovin & John Bevins.

p. 467, The last will & Testament of William Loftiss deceased was this day produced in court proven by the oaths of Asa Reeve Senr, John Sherwood & Elizabeth Williams subscribing witnesses thereto & ordered to be recorded and upon the motion of William Loftiss & Robert Meredith Executors therein named who made oath thereto certificate is granted them to obtain a probate thereof in due form of law Whereupon they with Joshua Ridgeway & John Champ their securities acknowledged bond in the penalty of three hundred pounds conditioned according to law.
Ordered that William G. Lowry, Jabez Reeve, James Spencer & Asa Reeve senr, or any three of them being first sworn do appraise in current money the personal estate (& slaves if any) of William Loftiss deceased & return an inventory thereof to the next court.
