Martha Reeves, Adminr on the Estate of John Reeves dec'd. Power of attorney to Alexander Sutherland
Know all men by these presents - That whereas Johnson Reeves late of Hopewell Township in the County of Cumberland and State of New Jersey deceased was in possession and died seized in fee simple of a certain tract or parcel of land in the Township of Warren in the county of Trumbull and State of Ohio which said tract or parcel of land is part of lot number twenty one of the original survey of said township of Warren and described in and by the Deed of Henry Jane and Ellen Jane his wife to the said Johnson Reeves as follows: Beginning at a stone in the center of the State Road, Thence by land of Lemma? Reeves North sixty eight Degrees East thirty four perches to a stone - Thence by land of James Scott, North ten Degrees west, ten perches to a post, thence by land of Henry Lane South eighty eight degrees west twenty eight perches and seven links to a post. Thence by the same South sixty six degrees west seventeen perches and one quarter to a post. Thence by the same South seventy nine degrees west eight perches to the centre of the State road. Thence along the centre of the State Road South forty two Degrees East eighteen perches and one quarter to the place of beginning containing two acres, one hundred and fifty nine perches as may more fully and at large appear by said Deed dated on the twentieth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven and recorded on the eighteenth day of February in the year last aforesaid in the Records of said Trumbull County in Book H page 513 & 514.

And whereas the said Johnson Reeves as before mentioned having died intestate leaving the following children and heirs to wit John Reeves, Stephen Reeves, Lemuel Reeves, Sarah (wife of Thomas G. Stewart) James J. Reeves, Lewis Reeves, and Ann (wife of Samuel Elwell) each one of the before mentioned heirs claiming one equal undivided seventh part of the before described lot or parcel of land, who severally and mutually agreed to and with the said Lemuel Reeves, on or about the 28th day of Sepr A.D. 1815 for a valuable consideration to them in hand paid to convey to the said Lemuel all their right title interest and estate in and to the aforesaid described tract of land, and the said Stephen, Sarah, James, Lewis and Ann did by their deed dated on the tenth day of May Eighteen hundred and nineteen (and Recorded in said Trumbull County Records Book Q pages 16, 17, & 18) convey with the said Lemuel jointly all their right title interest and estate for a valuable consideration therein mentioned to one Jacob Harsh of Warren in the County of Trumbull and state of Ohio - And also Zerviah Reeves widow of the said Johnson deceased by the same last mentioned Deed released and quitclaimed all her right and title dower to the aforesaid described premises.

And whereas the said John Reeves and Martha his wife (then of the County of Cumberland in the State of New Jersey) by a certain instrument of writing of bargain and sale under their hands and seals bearing date the twenty eighth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen for the consideration of the sum of ten dollars to them in hand paid did bargain and sell the sahre and part of the hereinbefore described lot of land and premises to the aforesaid Lemuel Reeves and which instrument of writing is in the words and figures following to wit "and agreed to be paid by the said Samuel Reeves and which instrument of writing in the words of figures following to wit - "For value reserved in we Due assign away all our right and titel to A Serten undivided Lot of Land in Warren Trubul County State of Ohio to Lemuel Reeves his ears or assigns for ever as witness our hands this 28th Day of September 1815 for the sum of $10.00"

And whereas the said John Reeves since the said twenty eighth day of September in the year Eighteen hundred and fifteen last before mentioned and before the execution of any other instrument of writing other than that herein last before refered to and recited whereby the said described premises have or could have been legally with due formality conveyed died intestate, leaving heirs, in whom it is considered, the legal estate is now vested.

And whereas administration of all and singular the goods, chattels, rights, and credits which were of the said John Reeves late of the County of Cumberland who as aforesaid died intestate was granted to the aforesaid Martha Reeves being the widow of the said John Reeves deceased as may appear by a duly authenticated certificate of said trust and appointment hereunto annexed. And whereas it is just and equitable that a proper and well authenticated Deed of Conveyance should be made to the said Lemuel Reeves, or to his heirs & assigns of the said aforementioned and described, or intended, so, to be described the consideration money having been previously received by the said John & Martha Reeves as will appear by said last recited instrument of bargain and sale as aforesaid.

Now Therefore Know Ye That I the said Martha Reeves of Cumberland County in the State of New Jersey aforesaid administratrix on the estate of the said John Reeves deceased and widow of the said John dec'd, reposing special confidence in Alexander Sutherland of Newton in the County of Trumbull and state of Ohio, the before recited consideration me thereunto moving do hereby constitute and appoint the said Alexander Sutherland my true and lawful agent and attorney, giving, granting and confiding to him all and every power, right, privilege and authority which I possess, held, claim, or am entitled to in law or equity, and concerning the premises herein before set forth and recited, and for me as my agent and attorney in my name stead and behalf to make, execute, acknowledge and deliver to the said Lemuel Reeves, or to his heirs or their assigns, or to the assigns of the said Lemuel or to their heirs or assigns, good and sufficient warrantee deed, or deeds with all such covenants of seizin and warranty and with such formalities as by the usage customs and laws of the State of Ohio are required to convey, in fee simple, the shares and part of the said John deceased to the said described premises, or to pursue such other course as the counsel learned in the law of the said Sutherland shall devise, advise and approve; or agreably to the practice usages & customs of any court of State of Ohio having cognizance of the same to appear in any such court before the Judge thereof, and in my name and stead by petition or other wise, as shall, or may be law ful, to pray such honorable court to make such or do or decree consistant and agreeably to the laws of said State in such cases made and provided as shall or may empower and authorize my said attorney to make execute acknowledge and deliver such Deed or Deeds of the premises so bargained and sold as aforesaid to either the said Lemuel or to his assigns, or to such one, of the assigns of such assigns, as now hath the rightful possession conformably to such order or decree, and to do all and singular such acts or things as shall be legal and necessary to be done in and concerning the premises, and also in my name for me to release and quit claim all my right and title of dower (as widow of the said John deceased) in and to said before described premises so as aforesaid bargained and sold - Hereby ratifying and confirming all that my said attorney shall lawfully do or cause to be done in the premises - In testimony whereof I have hereunto at Bridgeton set my hand and seal the Eighth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one
