Lancaster District           } Know all men by these presents that I Amos Horton of the State & District aforesaid for the consideration of the sum of five hundred & ninetene Dollars & 75 cents to me in hand paid by James Reeves Jr of the State & District aforesaid have granted bargained sold & released & by these presents do grant, Bargain, Sell & release unto the said James Reeves Jr a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred ninety six acres as the annexed plat will represent, Beginning on a heckry corner, thence to a mulbury thence to a Spanish Oak, thence to a Blk Oak, thence to a pine, thence to a pine, thence to a pine, thence to a pine, thence to a stake, thence to John J Blackmons old corner, thence down Branch to post oak, thence to 2 small post oak, thence up the creek to the mouth of the Spring Branch, thence up the Spring Branch to a stake, thence to the beginning corner containing one hundred thirty six acres - together with all and Singular, the rights, members & appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in anywise appertaining to have and to hold all the premises before detailed unto the said James Reeves Jr to his heirs & assigns forever & the said Amos Horton does hereby bind myself his heirs Executors & Admrs to warrant & forever defend all & singular the said premises unto the said James Reeves Jr his heirs & assigns against myself my heirs & against every other person lawfully claiming or to claim any part thereof - Witness my hand & seal this 6th August 1835

Lancaster District         } I Thos Twitty one of the Justices of the quorum for said District do hereby certify unto all whom it may concern that the wife of the within named Amos Horton did this day appear before me & upon being privately and separately examined by me did declare that she did freely voluntarily without any compulsion dread or fear of any person or persons whomsoever renounce release & forever relinquish unto the within named James Reeves Jr all his Interest & Estate & also all his right & claim of dower of in the all & singular the premises within mentioned & released - Taken & acknowledged before me this 23 Octr 1835
