This Indenture made the Fourth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and thirty nine 1839. Between Benjamin Reeves and Abigail his wife David Reeves and Clara his wife and Isaac Reeves and Sybil his wife all of the City of Philadelphia in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania of the first part, and Samuel Davies Blythe of Woodbury in the County of Gloucester and State of New Jersey of the second part Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Four Thousand five Hundred dollars lawful money of the United States to them in hand well and truly paid by the said Samuel Davis Blythe at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released conveyed and confirmed and by these present Do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff release convey and confirm unto the said Samuel Davies Blythe and to his heirs and assigns All that certain lot or parcel of land and premises situated on the Easterly side of the main Street in Woodbury in the County of Gloucester and State of New Jersey aforesaid and is Bounded as follows Beginning at a corner in the Edge of Woodbury Street aforesaid standing south thirty two degrees and thirty minutes West three and a half feet from the South west corner of the Wooden part of the Tavern house on said premises and from thence running first on said course fifty links, thence (2) south fifty eight degrees and fifteen minutes east three chains and fifty links to a corner Harkers lot late Snowdens thence by the same (3) south sixty eight degrees and fifteen minutes east ten chains to a corner in the line of other lanes of the said Samuel Davies Blythe, late of Doctor Joseph Fithians thence by the same (4) north Twenty one degreesand forty five minutes East four chains to a corner of John Hannas lot thence by the same and by the line of Allens lot (5) North sixty eight degrees and fifteen minutes west thirteen chains and seventy links to a corner in the main street of Woodbury aforesaid and corner also to the said Allens lot, thence along down the said Street (6) about south thirty one degrees west Two chains and sixty two links to another corner in said street thence (7) still along said street south fifty seven degrees & fifteen minutes, east fifty links to the place of Beginning containing five acres and forty six perches of land be the same more or less. Excepting and reserving out of this grant the Academy and the lot on which it stands as the same was conveyed by Benjamin Whitall a former owner to the trustees of the said Academy, as by reference to the deed for the same on Record in the Clerks office of the County of Gloucester will appear. Begin the same premises heretofore called and known by the name of the Eagle Hoten in Woodbury of which premises John Reeves late of the County of Gloucester deceased in his life time purchased of John Tonkin by Indenture bearing date the Twenty Eight day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen and which was further confirmed to him by an indenture from under the hands and seals of John Dyer and wife Keziah bearing date the fourth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen and which Indentures are recorded in the clerks office of the County of Gloucester and being so thereof seized the said John Reeves departed this life intestate leaving issue viz a son named Samuel and a child born shortly after the death of the said John Reeves also a son, to whom the same descended as heirs at law, and the said last mentioned child died intestate under age and without lawful issue by reason whereof the whole of said premises became vested in his brother the said Samuel Reeves above named and the said Samuel also died under age and without lawful issue and intestate by reason whereof the said premises descended and became vested in the above named Benjamin Reeves David Reeves and Sybil Reeves wife of Isaac Reeves they being the brothers and sister of the said John Reeves deceased and uncles and aunt of the paternam side of the said Samuel Reeves, and the said parties of the first part for the consideration above mentioned have bargained and sold the same to the said Samuel Davies Blythe above named.
Together with all and singular the buildings improvements rights liberties priviledges hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and of every part and parcel thereof. And also all the estate right title interest property possession claim and demand whatsoever both in law and equity of the said party of the first part of in and to the said premises with the appurtenances. To have and to hold the said lot or piece of land and premises herein above described (except the academy and lot as before excepted) unto the said Samuel Davies Blythe his heirs and assigns to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said Samuel Davies Blythe his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Benjamin Reeves David Reeves and Isaac Reeves for themselves their heirs executors and administrators do hereby covenant grant and agree to and with the said Samuel Davies Blythe his heirs and assigns, that the said parties of the first part above named have good right full power and sufficient authority in the law to grant bargain and sell the same premises to the said Samuel Davies Blythe his heirs and assigns as an absolute and indefeasible estate of inheritance in fee simple, and that it shall and may be lawful for the said Samuel Davies Blythe his heirs and assigns, at all ties forever hereafter peaceably and quietly to have hold use occupy possess and enjoy the said premises with all and singular the appurtenances without the lawful let suit trouble denial molestation or interruption of the said parties of the first part their heirs or assigns, or any other person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming the same. And that free and clear and freely and clearly of and from all other incumberances whatsoever, the said parties of the first part their heirs executors and administrators the said premises with all and singular the appurtenances unto the said Samuel Davies Blythe his heirs and assigns against themselves and their heirs and against all and all manner of persons whatsoever claiming the same will warrant and forever defend by these presents In witness whereof the said Benjamin Reeves and Abigail his wife, David Reeves and Clara his wife, ISaac Reeves and Sybil his iwfe have hereunto set their hands and seals the day & year first above written.

Be it Remembered that on this Fifteenth day of April AD 1839 before me the subscribers a commissioner duly appointed by the Governor of the State of New Jersey to take the acknowledgement and proof of Deeds personally appeared the above named Benjamin Reeves and Abigail his wife David Reeves and Clara his wife and Isaac Reeves and Sybil his wife who I am satisfied are the Grantors of the above Indenture and the contents thereof havein been first made known to them by me, they severally acknowledged that they signed sealed and delivered the same as their voluntary act and deed, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned And the said Abgain Reeves wife of the said Benjamin Reeves and CLara Reeves wife of the said David Reeves and Sybil Reeves wife of the said Isaac Reeves on a private examination apart from their husbands severally acknowledged that they signed sealed and delivered the same as their voluntary act and deed without ay fear threats or compulsion of their said husband. All of which is certified by me.
