Transcript

In the Name of God Amen I John Reeve of Moulsham in the Parish of Chelmsford in the County of Essex Victualer being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and ordain this my Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say first and principally I give and recomend my soul to Almighty God that gave it hopeing through the merits and meditations of my blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to Inhert eternall life and for my Body I recommend it to the Earth to be buried in a Christian and decent manner at the Discretion of my executors hereafter named and to my worldy estate and goods that God has lent me in this life I give and dispose as followeth
Item I give and bequeath to my wife Sarah Reeve all the messuages or tenements now in the occupation of Isaac Reeve and Joseph Sharp with the yards garden and appurtenances thereunto belonging as it is now situate and lying being in the Parish of Willingale Doe near a place called Birds Green in the aforesaid County of Essex for and during her life and at her Deceas I then Give it unto my two sons John and Walter Reeve to be equally parted between them in the Rents or if they shall be Disposed to sell them then the money to be equally divided between them
Item I also give and bequeath to my wife Sarah Reeve all my Household goods and chattles and at her Decease my will is that they be equally parted between my two aforesaid sons John and Walter Reeve and if there be any money or moneys at my wifes decease that it be equally divided between them my two sons John and Walter Lastly I do make and constitute my said wife and son John to be executor and executorex of this my will ad Testament Dated this the twenty fourth day of January the year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and thirty eight in witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this to be my will and Testament.

The 26th day of May 1842
Sarah Reeve the widow and one of the Executors within named was sworn to the truth of this will and to the due performance thereof and that to the best of her knowledge and belief the whole of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased are under the sum of Two hundred Pounds Power being reserved to John Reeve the son the other executor.

The testator died in Moulsham in the parish of Chelmsford on the 2nd of June last

Proved on the 12th August 1842 before the Revd James Hutchinson Clerk surrogate &c by the oath of Sarah Reeve the widow of decd the exetrix therein named she being first sworn well & faithfully to Administer Power being reserved of making the like grant to John Reeve the son of decd & Exor within named when he should lawfully apply for the same
