Narrative
Children of William Geer and Ann "Nancy" Haynes:William Geer along with his brother David, left North Carolina settling in Greene County, Georgia sometime before 1822 for there are no probate documents in Wake County for them in relation to the death of their grandfather, William Reeves, in that year. However, both are named among the plaintiffs in the court action filed against the executors of the estate of Frederick Geer in 1840.
Last Will and Testament of William Geer

In the name of Almighty God, Amen. I William Geer of said County being in feeble health but of sound mind & calling to mind the uncertainty of life & the certainty of death, do make this my last will & testament revoking all others that I may have made. I give & bequeath my soul to God who gave it & my body to return to its Mother dust from whence it came. 2nd I wish all my just debts to be paid. I give unto my wife Ann Geer the mindred of my estate after paying my debts during her natural life, consisting of the Negroes & the land on which I live in said County. At the death of my wife I give unto my son James Geer's children my negro boy Tom & also Harriet a girl & the land that I now live on provided he pays off a note due the baptist Convention for five Hundred & Eighty five dollars & also pays One Hundred & thirty dollars more toward my debts. I also give unto my son James Geer a lot of land in Lumpkin Co., No. 964, 11 Dist., 1 Sect. drawn by me to do as he pleases with.
I give unto my grandson Frederick Geer the son of James Geer a lot land in Cobb County containing forty acres drawn by H. H. Greer.
I give unto William Strain of Walton County in trust for my daughter Evaline Blasingham & her heirs at the death of my wife my negro girl Jane & the remainder of my property not mentioned above at the death of my wife I wish equally divided between my four children equally commencing at James & so on to John, Evaline & Emily. I appoint James M. and John L. Geer my Executors to this my last will & testament. In testimony whereof I have here to set my hand & seal this 24 Nov. 1843.

Porter & Lenard Greene the two describing witnesses to the within last will & testament of William Geer late of Greene County dec'd. given that they saw him transcribe the same & declare it to be his last will & testament & that they believed him to be of perfect sound mind & memory at the time of his signing the same & that they each signed the same as witnesses thereto in presence of each other & in the presence of the Testator.
