Page 484 of The Reeves Review is a repeat of the error of Page 17 pertaining to the wife of John T. Reeves. John T. Reeves, the son of Jeremiah Reeves and Jane Brazile is not the John T. Reeves who married Mrs. Harriett E. Bedingfield in Baldwin County, Georgia.

The wife of John T. Reeves, the son of Jeremiah Reeves, is incorrectly identified as Mrs. Harriett E. Bedingfield. It is not possible for the widow Harriet E. Bedingfield to have been the wife of John T. Reeves, son of Jeremiah Reeves, as proposed by the Reeves Review II. John T. Reeves, age 26-44, was recorded in Jasper County, Georgia in the 1820 census with a wife, 16-25 and 5 children under the age of 10 years old. Harriet E. Reeves, age 26-44, who appears to be a widow is recorded in that same 1820 census in Washington County with 2 male children under 10 years old.

From the Georgia Journal 1808-1818
Baldwin County, Georgia
23 Dec 1812 - Turner Reeves of Washington Co. married to Harriet Bedingfield of this place.

Further proof of the identity of Harriett Rives' husband is found in the 1820 will of Timothy Rives, probated in Richland District, South Carolina, in 1822 which documents the identity of John Turner Rives. The will even addresses a suit against Timothy's estate brought by his son John Turner Rives' widow Harriett and leaves a legacy to James, the son of Harriett and John Turner Rives. See Richland District SC Will Book G, p. 180-182.

Additionally, probate records of Baldwin County record the estate of Harriett E. RIVES deceased in August of 1828 and the only heirs, minor children John Bedingfield, Jr. and James T. Rives. Elizabeth, the wife of John T. Reeves, son of Jeremiah Reeves, was still living in Gadsden, Florida in 1870.
