On 6 Feb 1790 Joseph Reavis charged with fathering a male child by Mary Gallion, Thomas' daughter, and stands chargeable with maintenance of same. James Reavis and John Williams furnished securities. From the Surry County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions, February 16, 1790 - "Ordered Joseph Reavis, being charged with begitting a bastard mail child on the body of Mary Gallion by her own oath before William Head, Esq., stands chargeable with the maintenance of same."
